Magnify Analytic Solutions Deploys a Cloudera's Enterprise Data Hub to Meet the Growing Demands of its Fortune 100 Customer Base
Mar 18 15
Cloudera announced that Magnify Analytic Solutions has deployed a Cloudera enterprise data hub (EDH) to meet the growing demands of its Fortune 100 customer base. Through technology-driven data analysis, Magnify has increased its ability to deliver a 360-degree customer view that informs the business decisions of its blue-chip portfolio of clients including BMW Financial Services, Comcast, Ford Motor Company, Jaguar Cars, TD Bank, and Whirlpool. Magnify has historically relied on its legacy RDBMS environment to process large datasets for customers to support a variety of deliverables such as business to consumer (B2C) online marketing contests and product giveaways, executing 150 of these campaigns in the last year, and driving hundreds of thousands of conversions. A single campaign can generate as many as 200,000 hits in the first minute, presenting a Big Data challenge. As Magnify looked to expand its central data repository to take on more data types from more data sources, it quickly saw the need for a Big Data platform that would complement the RDBMS environment. The Big Data infrastructure needed to provide elastic flexibility and scalability to handle massive, short-term spikes in demand coupled with the ability to manage and manipulate huge data volumes from many sources.

Cisco Systems, Inc. Signs Software Resale Agreements with Cloudera Inc., Hortonworks and MapR
Mar 11 15
Cisco Systems, Inc. has signed software resale agreements with Cloudera Inc., Hortonworks and MapR for their Apache Hadoop data management capabilities and innovation. Data integration and management software partners Cloudera, Hortonworks and MapR will continue to play a critical role in customer success in the big data and analytics market. For customers and channel partners, the benefits are: simplified computing provisioning for Hadoop; agile, simple and pervasive data; streamlined consumption model; and expanding into the Big Data Imperative. The previously announced Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) Director Express for Big Data is now generally available. It offers customers a single touch deployment and management tool for Cloudera, Hortonworks and MapR and helps provide centralized management and visibility across both hardware and software, drastically reducing complexity and improving response times, making Hadoop fast and easy to deploy and manage. With the Cisco Data Virtualization solution, customers can abstract, access and query data and deliver it into a Hadoop cluster for cost-effective processing and data management. As organizations realize the business value of extracting data and analytics, the increased scaling of their Hadoop cluster can be accelerated with an integrated hardware and software purchase. This will yield faster time to results while lowering the overall cost of storing data. Channel partners have the opportunity to tap into the fast growing big data market opportunity while taking advantage of existing Cisco data center channel promotions.
