To better understand what is driving this critical economic issue and other trends affecting small business, The Hartford announced a new research partnership with UCLA Anderson Forecast. Produced twice a year, The Hartford/UCLA Anderson Forecast Small Business Project will draw on The Hartford’s data, national surveys of small business owners, and analysis by UCLA Anderson Forecast economists. The research will explore themes, such as employment, the impact of technology, demographics, risk attitudes, and regulation of small businesses. The research collaboration represents another step in the insurer’s ongoing commitment to studying small business trends and providing them with resources to grow. The Hartford/UCLA Anderson Forecast Small Business Project follows five years of The Hartford’s Small Business Success Study.

Kate Motonaga Joins UCLA Anderson as New CFO

Kate Motonaga, UCLA Anderson's new senior associate dean for finance, has worked in the finance and accounting fields for more than 25 years, managing budgets up to $1 billion. With a broad reach across functions, she held increasingly senior finance and accounting positions in companies that included Honeywell, California Steel, Avery Dennison and Kaiser Aluminum, followed by 10 years providing CFO-level consulting services to private and public-sector organizations. Kate joined Anderson's executive team as CFO.
