Abu Dhabi Investment Council In Talks To Acquire Stake In Woori Bank

The Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC) has expressed its interest in buying a stake in Woori Bank Co., Ltd. (KOSE:A000030), which has been put up for sale, a government official said August 28, 2015. "The ADIC has sent a letter of intent to show its interest to participate in the bidding," said an official of the Financial Services Commission. The FSC will send a group of officials to Abu Dhabi later this month to discuss the issue with the ADIC side, official said. A group of high-profile financial officials from Korea flied to the Middle East to check foreign demand. Financial Services Commission was led by Vice Chairman Jeong Chan-woo.

Abu Dhabi Investment Council Announces Executive Changes

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahayan will be the new chairman of Abu Dhabi Investment Council, seen as a revamp of the board of investment arm of the Abu Dhabi government. Crown prince will replace the UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahayan as the head of the fund, which is the investment wing of the Abu Dhabi Government. The other changes in the board include the appointment of Mohammed al-Suwaidi, chairman of Al Hilal Bank, as the new managing director of Adic, replacing Khalifa Mohammed Al-Kindi.
