Mobileum Inc. Key Developments

Mobileum Launches Rovng App at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona

Mobileum has launched its Rovng app at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This smartphone app enables mobile operators to evolve beyond traditional roaming and become a key enabler in the travel industry value chain. Rovng leverages company's widely deployed roaming solutions base across the world by complementing it with analytics through the life cycle of a traveler's journey to offer contextual content from an ecosystem of travel service providers, thereby opening up new revenue opportunities. The company's proprietary algorithms predict travel up to 40 days prior to departure with over 40% recall accuracy, and can segment travelers based on predicted purpose of travel. This creates an opportunity for the operator to be part of the booking flow earlier in the travel cycle. The result: new revenue streams from digital advertising, premium placement, bookings, and even upselling special roaming packs. Rovng can also power an existing mobile operator app with Travel Insights and EcoSystem APIs by connecting it to Mobileum's cloud-enabled service.

Mobileum Launches Advanced Version of Roam-Like-at-Home Enabler

Mobileum has announced the launch of the advanced version of Roam-Like-at-Home (RLAH) enabler, with fair usage policy (FUP) support to meet the guidelines mandated by EU Regulation 2015/2120. While the detailed FUP guidelines are open for public consultation by the European Commission and are yet to be finalized, the company's RLAH enabler offers highly flexible policy rules to cover a broad definition of periodic travel, and thus ready to support FUP even before the regulations fully come into force. This will enable roaming providers to apply a 'fair use policy' to prevent misuse or anomalous use of regulated roaming services, thus, when the roamer exceeds fair use limits, a surcharge may be applied.

Mobileum, Inc Announces Anti-Fraud Analytics

Mobileum announced Mobileum Anti-Fraud Analytics, a predictive, machine learning-based fraud prevention solution that helps telecom operators to arrest revenue leakage with real-time fraud detection. Telecom fraud continues to be a serious menace for the Telecom Operators eroding their profits and impacting their brand image. With over $46 billion in lost revenue, telecom is second only to banks in revenue leakage from fraud. For some operators, losses from fraud are growing faster year-over-year than the service revenue. Conventional Fraud Management Systems understand known frauds and have rules built to detect known ways of committing fraud, but such systems are unable to keep pace with the fraudsters who are constantly innovating and evolving. Mobileum Anti-Fraud Analytics runs on its patent-pending Big Data and Analytics platform called Wisdom, which can mine through billions of unsuspected usage transactions in real-time to discover anomalous patterns of emerging fraudulent behaviors. This helps widen the net to trap the deviations in the known types of frauds, and identify unknown frauds, across Voice, Data and SMS, as well as international and roaming fraud scenarios. Mobileum mentioned that a Tier-1 US mobile operator signed up as the first customer for Anti-Fraud Analytics in Dec. 2014.
