Gazprom Space Systems Launches Services on Yamal 401 Satellite

Gazprom Space Systems (GSS) has started commercial services on its Yamal 401 satellite, located at 90 degrees East. The satellite was launched in December 2014. Services on the Yamal 300K satellite will be switched to the Yamal 401 by February, and the Yamal 300K will change position in order to serve the Far East regions later.

Gazprom Space Systems Expands Broadband Coverage in Yugra, Yamal'

Gazprom Space Systems has deployed access nodes and launched satellite broadband services in 26 villages in the Yugra and Yamal-Nenets regions, reports Comnews.ru. The operator also launched indoor Wi-Fi hotspots in the agglomerations. Retail subscribers are served from the operator's website, where they can pay for services online, using bank cards.

Gazprom Space Systems. to Launch Yamal 401 Satellite on December 15, 2014

The Yamal-401 communications satelite is planned to launch on the Proton vehicle from the Baikonur cosmodrome on 15 December 2014 by Gazprom Space Systems. At an orbital location of 90 degrees East, the satellite will provide services to users in Russia and the CIS countries. The combined payload of the satellite will include 17 x 72 MHz transponders in standard C-band, 18 x 72 MHz transponders in standard Ku-band and 18 x 36 MHz transponders in planned frequencies of Ku-band. The total capacity of the Yamal-401 satellite will amount to 53 physical transponders or 88 equivalent (36 MHz) transponders, which will compose one fixed beam in the C-band covering Russia and the CIS countries and two ixed beams in Ku-band.
