The Consumer Bankers Association Announces Board Leadership Team for 2017

The Consumer Bankers Association (CBA) announced Ross Carey, Executive Vice President, Business Banking Division, Community Banking and Branch Delivery of U.S. Bank, as chairman of the board of directors, leading CBA's newly elected leadership team for 2017. Carey previously had been serving as Chair-Elect of the board. In addition, Brad Conner, Vice Chairman, Consumer Banking of Citizens Financial Group, has been named Chair-Elect for 2017. Carey succeeds Will Howle, Head of U.S. Retail Banking at Citigroup Inc. Howle will remain on the Board as Immediate Past Chair. Carey, Conner and Howle will comprise CBA's Administrative Committee, which is charged with oversight of CBA's operations. CBA's board of senior retail banking executives guides the organization in its support of and advocacy for the retail banking industry, which provides banking services to America's consumers and small businesses. CBA membership also re-elected Michael Aust of Comerica Bank, Todd Barnhart of PNC Bank, Richard Gold of M&T Bank and Michelle Lee of Wells Fargo to its Board of Directors.

Consumer Bankers Association Appoints Samuel Whitfield, Jr. as Senior Vice President of Congressional Affairs

The Consumer Bankers Association announced the appointment of Samuel (Sam) Whitfield, Jr. as Senior Vice President of Congressional Affairs, effective January 5, 2016. Whitfield,a seasoned public policy professional, joins CBA with an extensive background in the public and private sectors, ranging from associations to Capitol Hill and the White House. In his role, he will lead CBA's government relations team and serve as a member of the CBA management team. Most recently, Whitfield served as Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer for Congressional Relations at the Credit Union National Association.
