Lisa K. Jorgenson Joins American Intellectual Property Law Association as Executive Director

Lisa K. Jorgenson has joined the American Intellectual Property Law Association as executive director after previously serving as group vice president of intellectual property and licensing at STMicroelectronics. She previously served as a member of the AIPLA board of directors and recently served as the treasurer for the Intellectual Property Owners Association and as a member of the executive committee of the Association of Corporate Patent Counsel. At STMicroelectronics, Jorgenson led a multinational IP team responsible for all forms of IP protection in the semiconductor industry.

American Intellectual Property Law Association Appoints Sharon Israel as President

Sharon Israel, an intellectual property partner at Mayer Brown, was named president of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) at its recent annual meeting. In more than 20 years as an AIPLA member, Israel has served on the board of directors, as a member of the executive committee and as chair or vice-chair of seven committees. During her one-year term as president, she will focus her priorities on membership outreach and advocacy initiatives, including making AIPLA more accessible to its members locally and helping members stay informed about legislative and regulatory changes in the intellectual property arena.

AIPPI-US Division of the American Intellectual Property Law Association Appoints Peter C. Schechter as Partner

Peter C. Schechter, who joined Osha Liang LLP as a partner in January 2014, was elected vice chair of the AIPPI-US Division of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
