Fiduciary Trust Company announced that Peter Andersen has joined as Chief Investment Officer (CIO). Andersen joins Fiduciary Trust from Congress Wealth Management, where he has served as Chief Investment Officer since 2003. He was also a portfolio manager with Congress Asset Management, an affiliated firm. Prior to Congress, Andersen held senior roles at Delaware Investments/Conseco Capital Management and Colonial Management. In his role as CIO at Fiduciary Trust, Andersen will be responsible for leading Fiduciary’s investment process. This includes directing the development and refinement of the firm’s investment strategies, asset allocation, third-party manager selection and client portfolio construction. Michael Mullaney, previously CIO, will move to the newly created role of Chief Investment Strategist, responsible for providing perspectives and insights on the global economy and investment markets.

Fiduciary Trust Company announced that Scott Sumner has joined as Vice President, Head of Custody. In this newly created position, Mr. Sumner is overseeing all custody sales and relationship management activities as the firm expands its custody business. Mr. Sumner joined from State Street Wealth Manager Services. In his previous roles at State Street and predecessor firm Investors Financial (which was acquired by State Street), he was responsible for the oversight of custody for a significant number of clients. Most recently, he served as head of relationship management for Wealth Manager Services’ investment management outsourcing platform.

Mr. Mittelman joins Fiduciary Trust from The Boston Company Asset Management, LLC, where he was an institutional portfolio manager for eight years and also served as a member of the asset allocation committee and editorial board. Mr. Mittelman, who will serve in Fiduciary Trust’s Boston office, previously spent time at Fidelity Investments, Wellington Management and McKinsey & Company.
