Penske Media Corporation appointed George Grobar as Chief Operating Officer. Grobar, who most recently served as Executive Vice President for the company, will be responsible for working with PMC business leaders to develop growth plans and achieve PMC's operational and financial plans across its impressive portfolio of brands (Variety, WWD, Footwear News, Deadline, Indiewire, TVLine, Hollywood Life, Gold Derby, Variety Latino). With PMC's aggressive expansion plans, the company's scale and number of businesses continue to grow. As Chief Operating Officer, Grobar will be focused on ensuring the smooth and effective integration of acquisitions, continuing to expand PMC's digital footprint, and working with the leadership teams across the company to deliver improving financial and business performance. Grobar will be overseeing all PMC sales and operations. He will also be responsible for all organizational plans and budgets company-wide. Penske Media Corporation announced a new partnership with Tokyo Sangyo Shimbun, Inc. to launch Variety-Japan, to deliver Variety's revered entertainment content direct to a Japanese audience, signaling PMC's move toward more such globally-targeted content from its more than 20 media brands. Under the multiyear license, Tokyo Sangyo Shimbun, Inc. will launch and manage Variety-Japan, a Japanese language version of Variety.com on September 28, 2015. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Tokyo Sangyo Shimbun, Inc. runs 'Gadget Tsushin' and brings to the PMC's editorial and business teams key understanding of today's Japanese audience. Together, the two companies will deliver to Japanese readers tailored and translated content from Variety magazine and Variety.com for this new Variety-Japan destination. Shutterstock Signs License Deal with Penske Media

Shutterstock announced that it has signed an agreement with Penske Media. Financial terms weren't disclosed. With the agreement, the digital content firm will have an exclusive worldwide right and license to Penske's archive, including images from its 100-year-old publications Variety and WWD. Shutterstock will also have access to Penske's events, galas, summits and conferences to capture moments, as well as license the imagery to the world's media. Furthermore, Shutterstock will provide Penske with its WebDAM digital asset management service.
