PCN Technology Inc. Announces Availability of PCN InterMax Modules Enable Industrial Ethernet on Existing Wiring
Mar 19 15
PCN Technology Inc. announced the availability of its new high-performance InterMax product line. InterMax products allow both discrete and process automation networks to use existing copper wiring of any type within control, fieldbus and sensor applications operating on two wire, twisted pair and coax including specialty or proprietary cabling as a virtual long-distance CAT 5 cable. InterMax facilitates high-bandwidth communication across a myriad of industrial topologies and architectures enabling the deployment of TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profinet, among others. For industrial applications, such as manufacturing facilities, oil and gas refineries, semiconductor wafer-fabs, etc., it can be both costly and complex to deploy Ethernet networks when having to effectively rip out and replace the legacy wiring infrastructure. To do so requires tremendous capital expense, planning, prolonged interruption to operations and the risky prospect of revenue impact. These factors all contribute to the likelihood of not having the needed budget, mounting concerns about dealing with unplanned surprises and ultimately pushing out the project’s implementation – ultimately losing business competitiveness by delaying the move from old technology to a new Industrial Internet enabled network. PCN’s newest line of InterMax™ products provide industrial network operators with the capability of repurposing their existing wiring to facilitate the accelerated deployment of Industrial Internet networks by simply reusing all of the existing cabling currently in operation. PCN InterMax products allow existing cabling to be repurposed for industrial Ethernet up to 2000 feet and even further when InterMax™ Repeaters are integrated into the topology. InterMax™ products provide a migration or upgrade path for industrial manufacturers, oil & gas facilities among other discrete and process manufacturers looking for robust, reliable and secure ways to deploy industrial Ethernet technologies. With over 20,000 products installed to date in the most adverse of environments, PCN Technology continues to demonstrate its leadership in Industrial Ethernet technologies.
PCN Releases 24VDC Ethernet/IP Upgrade Devices for Allen Bradley Remote I/O Blue Hose Infrastructure
Jan 15 15
PCN Technology, Inc. announced the availability of its latest product portfolio which upgrade and migrates Remote I/O (RIO) “Blue Hose” cabling into Industrial Internet network infrastructure for deploying Ethernet/IP networks. PCN’s products provide a full infrastructure transformation enabling access to all IP enabled features of new wired or wireless devices allowing a risk-reduced, secure, cost-effective upgrade and migration pathway. This is achieved without requiring any of the dramatic impacts to production operations, budgets or serial product lifecycles seen with other products or the operational shutdown of a rip and replace required for new structured cabling. PCN 24VDC EtherNet/IP Infrastructure Upgrade Device Specifications: Product Types: BH4485 (Master, Slave, Repeater, Development Kits) - Description: Ethernet/IP Upgrade & Migration Devices for Data Highway RIO Blue Hose Infrastructure - Power: 24VDC Nominal (18 to 30VDC) - Din Rail: Yes - Ethernet Bandwidth: 10/100 Base-T Compliant - Remote I/O Baud Rate: 57.6K & 115.2K - Cabling Type: Trunk/Drop Belden 9463 Blue Hose - Connectivity: Peer to Peer, Multi-Drop Ethernet - Compliance: UL, cUL, CE, Class 1 Division 2 - Distance: System Supports Data Highway RIO Specifications up to 10,000 Feet - Current Lead Time: 4 Weeks. PCN’s products eliminate compatibility issues and allow engineers to deploy new Ethernet/IP Industrial Ethernet networks on legacy Blue Hose cabling as if high-speed structured cabling were already installed. Uniquely, PCN products even allow legacy Remote I/O (RIO) serial networks to operate simultaneously and independently on the Blue Hose infrastructure while deploying Ethernet/IP networks.
