The D.R. Templeman Company Springs into Solar with Standard Solar, Inc
Aug 11 15
The D.R. Templeman Company announced it is installing a 360-panel, 111-kilowatt (kW) solar photovoltaic (PV) system on the rooftop of its manufacturing facility. The company selected Standard Solar, Inc. to develop the project and install the system. The array, expected to produce 127,000 kilowatt-hours of power per year, will cover 100% of the manufacturing facility’s energy needs and offset nearly 90 metric tons of carbon dioxide annually which is equal to the amount of CO2 emissions sequestered each year by a 70 acre U.S. forest.
Standard Solar, Inc. to Design and Install 3.6 Megawatt Solar System for the Town of Stafford
Mar 9 15
Standard Solar, Inc. announced it will design and install a 3.6 Megawatt (MW) solar system for the Town of Stafford, Conn. The project will feature three arrays: two located at Stafford Middle School (1.3MW each) and a 954 kW array at the Towns landfill. Comprised of 11,780 panels, the virtual net-metered system will offset all of the school’s electrical usage and most of the Town’s other municipal buildings. With an expected annual output of more than 4.6 million kilowatt hours per year, the new solar system is projected to save the Town $4,316,126 over 15 years and $12,270,830 over 25 years. With all of their energy projects implemented, the Town is expected to save more than $24 million over 25 years as it completes the execution of its energy plan. Expected to break ground in April and be complete in early 2016, the system’s C02 reduction is equivalent to planting 2,650 acres of trees or removing the emissions of 670 passenger vehicles.
