NuScale Power Announces Launch of NuScale Diverse Energy Platform (NuDEP)

NuScale Power, LLC announced the launching of its NuScale Diverse Energy Platform (NuDEP) highlighting its small modular reactor technology as the nuclear “plug-n-play” solution for providing reliable power to diverse applications. Several studies recently conducted by NuScale and its application partners have showcased the NuScale Power ModuleTM as the optimized power solution for mission critical applications. Those studies include: oil Refineries Study - Reduction of Carbon Emissions (NuScale and Fluor); renewables Study " Integration with Horse Butte Wind Farm(Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems (UAMPS), Energy Northwest, and NuScale); hydrogen Production Study " High temperature Steam Electrolysis (Idaho National Lab (INL) and NuScale); desalination Study " Integration with multiple technologies and sized for the Carlsbad, California desalination plant (Aquatech and NuScale). NuScale is continuing to expand its NuDEP applications. A new study has been launched at INL in partnership with the University of Wyoming on the use of NuDEP for coal conversion to synthetic fuels and other high-value, carbon-based products.

NuScale Power, LLC announced that recent strengthening of its executive team with the hiring of John Eustermann as General Counsel and Carl Britsch as Vice President of Human Resources. Prior to assuming this position, John Eustermann was Sr. VP, General Counsel & Corp. Secretary at Harvest Power Inc. He was solely responsible for all aspects of legal representation of the company, including acquisitions, project development, financing, intellectual property, general corporate and governance matters, employment, litigation and regulatory compliance. Carl Britsch brings over twenty years of Human Resources experience to NuScale Power. Carl has worked in HR for a wide variety of industries including automotive, logistics, oilfield services and energy. Early in his HR career, Carl spent nearly ten years with Ford Motor Company including roles in two Ford Assembly plants and a role in the United Kingdom.
Dale Atkinson Joins NuScale as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nuclear Officer, Effective July 7, 2014

NuScale Power announced that Dale Atkinson will become the company's COO and CNO effective July 7, 2014. Atkinson comes to NuScale from Energy Northwest where he has served as the manager of engineering, VP Tech Services, VP Nuclear Generation and CNO, VP Operations Support, VP Employee Development/Corporate Services and VP Energy Services and Development, among other roles, since 1989. Atkinson has been a senior reactor operator instructor, member of the control room staff at an operating commercial nuclear plant, spent six years directing initial start-up testing at new commercial nuclear power plants and served five years in the nuclear navy as an officer aboard nuclear attack submarines. In addition he has participated in numerous industry leadership roles including the INPO executive advisory committee, NEI's Nuclear Strategic Issues Advisory Committee and EPRI's Nuclear Power Council and has presented to the NRC Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards.
