Silicon Valley Community Foundation had no immediate plans to sell shares of GoPro, Inc. (NasdaqGS:GPRO). Mari Ellen Loijens, Chief Business Development and Brand Officer of Silicon Valley Community Foundation said, "We don’t want to sell right away. It’s a huge gift, and when we are fortunate to receive massive gifts like this, we want to be very thoughtful about the sale process."
Silicon Valley Community Foundation Appoints Paul Velaski as its New Chief Financial Officer

Silicon Valley Community Foundation announced the hire of Paul Velaski as its new chief financial officer. Velaski, formerly chief financial officer at the Arizona Community Foundation, joined SVCF on Aug. 4. Velaski, who had served as CFO at the Arizona Community Foundation since 2007, has broad experience in the nonprofit sector as well as the corporate world. He served as vice president and chief financial officer of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, and also as interim president and CEO of that organization prior to joining the Arizona Community Foundation. With Velaski’s arrival, Vera Bennett, who had served as both CFO and chief operating officer for SVCF since 2013, will focus solely on her role as COO.
Silicon Valley Community Foundation Announces Management Changes

Silicon Valley Community Foundation announced that Erica K. Wood has been named its Chief Community Impact Officer. In her new role, Wood will oversee all of SVCF’s community initiatives, grantmaking strategies, convening and research efforts. Prior to her promotion to chief of SVCF’s Community Impact Division (formerly known as the Giving Division), she served both as senior vice president and vice president of community leadership and grantmaking at SVCF. In addition, Manuel Santamaría has been named Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Grantmaking. He will oversee several initiatives that address critical community issues and will advance SVCF’s grantmaking strategies and operations to achieve greater innovation and impact in the future. Santamaría, who joined parent organization Peninsula Community Foundation in 1999, has played many roles at SVCF, including program officer in early learning and grantmaking director. Eleanor Clement Glass, who since the inception of SVCF has served as chief of the division incorporating SVCF’s community leadership and grantmaking functions, has been named Special Advisor to the President for Public Policy Initiatives. Clement Glass will lead SVCF’s long-term advocacy efforts around immigration issues and payday lending, among other topics.
