Brazilian Government Seeks To Privatize Galeao Airport

Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil is considering a re-privatisation of Rio De Janeiro-Galeao International Airport after the consortium responsible for the premises made of Odebrecht Transport, Changi International Airports and Infraero admitted that it may not be able to pay this year's fee of BRL 960 million.

Five Airports To Be Privatized By 2016 End

Infraero intends to raise BRL 5 billion by divesting part of its minority stakes in five airports as early as the end of 2016, a source familiar with the plan told Reuters. According to the source, who requested anonymity because the plan remains under discussion, Infraero will transfer to a subsidiary the 49% stakes it owns in five international airports to private concessions and is still considering the idea of listing the subsidiary. The source added that it is now a clear preference for selling up to 25% of the unit to a strategic partner. The airports are Aeroportos Brasil Viracopos S.A., Empresa Brasileira de Infraestrutura Aeroportuária, Confins Airport, Rio De Janeiro-Galeao International Airport and Aeroporto Internacional de Guarulhos/São Paulo - Governador Andre Franco Montoro.
