ARES Security Corporation Releases New Module of the Avert Blutrain Software for Site Familiarization
Jun 22 17
ARES Security Corporation released their new site familiarization software, BluTrain-Tour. BluTrain is an interactive, immersive, 3D model of a facility, either existing or planned. The software can be used for a wide variety of purposes, such as training, testing response procedures, supporting table tops, training for operations in areas not easily accessible, or any requirement where high definition visualization is required. BluTrain-Tour provides a virtual environment for users to get familiar with their facility from the comfort of their own desk, at a training center, or anywhere that can support a computer. With the ability to see any object within the site model, bookmark pre-defined areas for quick reviews, and even observe lines of sight, BluTrain gives watch standers a way to quickly learn the facility without physically going to locations. Users can also choose to take the tour in the form of a fly-over or overall orientation to get a general overview of the site, or a walk-through to get a more detailed look, including in areas that are typically inaccessible during operations. BluTrain can be used in sync with the AVERT model, allowing users to leverage their existing site models built with AVERT, or new models that can be developed for users not yet on AVERT. Table Tops, force on force exercises and other training events or operational planning sessions all can use the same common model for a realistic view as seen by an actual person in that location. BluTrain users can save time and money typically spent on training and operations by using BluTrain-Tour to leverage their 3D models for any purpose where quality visualization of the site adds value.
ARES Security Adds an Advanced Behavior Module to Their AVERT Risk Assessment Software
Jun 20 17
ARES Security Corporation released a new Advanced Behavior Module for their AVERT software family. AVERT software enables customers to optimize their facilities through detailed risks assessments preparing them for any eventuality. The new module, developed with inputs from the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and Commercial Nuclear clients provides combat simulation enhancements that are extremely useful for ASC customers. The initial release of the module includes advanced control of specialized agents like snipers, breaching, cover and concealment, and other activities. Graphical user interface (GUI) configurations allow users to configure agent behaviors and inter-agent activities in a way that ensures results consistent with the accredited algorithms in AVERT, without requiring scripts to control agent behaviors, which is known to be error prone. Every addition to AVERT is validated to comply with the requirements and test results of the Verification, Validation and Accreditation process conducted with US DoD and DOE. ASC continually develops new capabilities for their software against these and other requirements, so their customers can stay ahead of new and developing threats. AVERT's Advanced Behavior Module allows for frequent addition of new capabilities. New additions this year will simulate the attack plans an adversary could use based on physical protection devices, and the effects of a cyber-attack and its impact it has on these systems. Different cyber assets can become targets of adversaries or even insiders, modelling the impact a cyber-attack has on a physical attack. The new module will also enhance drone capabilities.
ARES Security Signs 4 Contracts
Jan 17 17
ARES Security Corporation (ASC) ended 2016 by signing 4 new contracts bringing the year to a close with 39% of the nuclear reactors in the United States using AVERT. The new contracts also expand on ARES Security's international presence. While two of the contracts are with new customers, one is to upgrade a site to AVERT All Hazards and the last is an expansion of work in progress. The expansion will advance ASC's partnership with Bruce Power who have been working with ASC for the past five years. ARES Security will be working with Bruce Power to finalize their AVERT All Hazards project and a real-time Table Top Exercise Module in 2017.
