SNC-Lavalin Mulls Sale Of 407 International

SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. (TSX:SNC) may sell stake in 407 International Inc. The company is poised to divest its stake in 407 International and expects to raise around $3 billion. Denis Durand of Jarislowsky, Fraser Limited, SNC-Lavalin’s shareholder said, “I expect them to sell their 407 stake this year”. The official added that SNC's strategy of investing in new infrastructure projects at the expense of more mature assets that offer less growth makes a sale of 407 International inevitable. Regarding 407 International, SNC’s Chief executive officer Robert Card staed, “Given the success of these two transactions, that will more likely be closer to the front end than the back end of that timeline.” According to the news report, Lilly Nguyen, a spokeswoman for SNC declined to comment.
