Mercantil Commercebank announced that its board of directors has named Alberto (Al) Peraza as president and chief operating officer. Peraza will also join the bank's board. Millar Wilson, who has been president and CEO of Coral Gables-based Mercantil Commercebank since 2009, will now serve as vice chairman and CEO. In his new role, Wilson will continue to lead the bank's strategic vision for growth and expansion in the U.S., the bank said Peraza's new role will include responsibility for implementing the bank's corporate strategies, managing the business units, and establishing performance and production targets. Previously, he served as the bank's chief financial officer since 1995.
