The Woman's Hospital of Texas announced the opening of its newly expanded Maternal Assessment Center. This specially-designed Center provides moms-to-be with a unique area focused on their testing or urgent care needs. The Center is open six days a week, weekdays from 7 am to 11 pm, and Saturdays from 7 am to 7 pm. The expanded 3,800-square-foot Maternal Assessment Center includes 13 private rooms and is easily accessible from valet services and the emergency department located on the hospital's first floor. The Maternal Assessment Center offers advanced services to women who need special care during pregnancy. Nursing specialists from the Maternal Assessment Center work with each patient and her personal physician to manage specific conditions, such as the onset of labor, obstetrical and gynecologic conditions, and surgical emergencies. If necessary, the Maternal Assessment Center will provide the patient with direct admission to the hospital's Labor & Delivery unit. The Woman's Hospital of Texas is the premier facility for pregnant women in Texas. The Maternal Assessment Center expansion allows The Woman's Hospital of Texas to better serve the women of Houston and outlying communities.

HCA Gulf Coast Division President Maura Walsh announced that Ashley McClellan has been named the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Woman's Hospital of Texas (TWHT). Previously, Ashley served as the CEO of Medical Center of Lewisville in HCA's North Texas Division. Linda Russell, TWHT's current CEO, is retiring after 21 years of service.
The Woman's Hospital of Texas Announces Opening of the Pediatric Center

Woman's Hospital of Texas announced the opening of the Pediatric Center located on the fifth floor of the hospital now offering emergency, inpatient and intensive care services for children ages 17 years and under. The staff will provide the same high quality, personalized, compassionate care to children that Houston women have received for nearly 40 years. Now, the hospital that delivers more babies than any other hospital in Houston will provide continuity of care for children from conception to adulthood. At nearly 24,000 square feet, the Pediatric Center will provide a separate, dedicated 6-bed emergency department, an 18-bed medical/surgical inpatient unit and a 14-bed pediatric intensive care unit. The Pediatric Center will provide an array of pediatric services, including emergency medicine, pediatric surgery and critical care services, along with a wide range of pediatric specialties for consultation and treatment, including cardiology, ENT, urology and others, by some of Texas' finest board-certified pediatric physicians. There will be a dedicated waiting room in the Emergency Department and a special children's play room and a teen room on the medical/surgical inpatient unit.Â A kid-friendly menu will also be available.
