The updates feature full living picture playback on camera, native editing in Adobe Photoshop, and even faster processing of light field images during capture and post-production. Photographers can also create even more results from one exposure, including 3D lenticular prints and stereoscopic side-by-side 3D animations, which can be used with virtual reality headsets like Google Cardboard and Samsung Gear VR.
Lytro Launches Lytro Platform to Empower Exploration of Light Field Technology

Lytro, Inc. announced the Lytro Platform to empower innovative organizations to harness the full potential of the light field in their industries. Signaling the expansion of Lytro's proprietary light field technology beyond the domain of photography, the Lytro Platform will bring the transformational power of the light field to an entirely new set of imaging applications for the first time. The Lytro Platform advances the company beyond the realm of camera manufacturing and into a broader role of enabling innovation in imaging, positioning Lytro as the hub of a new technology ecosystem. The first product to be released as part of the Lytro Platform is the Lytro Development Kit (LDK). Lytro and Chromat Bring Light Field Photography to MADE Fashion Week New York

Lytro, Inc. announced it will bring an unprecedented visual experience to New York Fashion Week 2014 through collaborations with MADE. As the professional camera partner of MADE Fashion Week New York 2014 (Sept. 4--10), Lytro will introduce Light Field Photography to one of the world's most influential creative communities, launching a multimedia project that will document the work of designer Chromat through the lens of the new LYTRO ILLUM camera. As part of the partnership, Lytro and MADE will unveil the look book with images produced using cutting-edge Light Field Photography. In collaboration with MADE, Lytro will develop an exclusive look book package for a renowned designer-photographer team from Chromat, an American fashion label based in New York City, who will use the LYTRO ILLUM light field camera to shoot their collection. Chromat garments have been worn by some of the world's most recognizable celebrities and entertainers, including Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Kim Kardashian and Beyonce for her Super Bowl XLVII halftime show performance.
