The YMCA of Greater New York announced the organization's expanded leadership team. Natalie Norton will assume the role of Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer on October 3. As a proven leader in the YMCA movement, Norton will work to enhance service to key constituents, enrich and grow the Y's many successful programs and continue the pursuit of operational excellence; Joseph F. Chan will serve as Senior Vice President, Real Estate & Property Management, effective in late September. With over two decades of experience in community and economic development, Chan will be responsible for developing a real estate strategy for facility expansion, replacement and reinvestment; Kathryn Glass assumed the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer as of September 1. By leveraging her background working with premier New York City nonprofit institutions, Glass will work to further strengthen the Y brand through innovative integrated marketing and communications strategies; and Elizabeth Bergin serves in the new position of Senior Vice President of Research, Evaluation and Strategy, after joining the Y this past spring. Bergin will bring greater rigor to the collection, analysis and reporting of data.
Currently, Natalie serves as the National Chair of the Employee Resource Group of Y-USA Women's Leadership
Network and is a member of the Y-USA Diversity & Inclusion Council. Joseph has over two decades of experience in community and economic development. Joseph has served for five years as Executive Vice President, Real Estate and Public/Private Partnerships at Empire State Development (ESD), New York State's chief economic development agency. During his tenure, he oversaw the agency's large-scale public/private development projects and priorities. Prior to joining the Y in 2016, Kathryn served as Vice President of Marketing and Public Engagement at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, where she led communications, public programs, and partnerships and also managed the Garden's earned income lines.

The YMCA of Greater New York's Board of Directors elected Chris Blunt as Chair of the organization. Blunt currently serves as President, Investments Group at New York Life, and is the 42nd Chair of the YMCA's Board since the organization's founding in 1852. Blunt, who has been a Vice Chair of the Y's Board of Directors since 2014, succeeds Sal Maglietta, who served as Chair since 2013. Earlier this month, the Y honored Blunt with its Dodge Award, presented annually to an outstanding individual who epitomizes the Dodge family's 164-year-old tradition of service to fellow New Yorkers. Prior to taking the helm of New York Life, Blunt served as co-president of the company's insurance and agency group. Previously, Blunt led GivingCapital Inc. His career has also included roles at Merrill Lynch & Co. and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. The Board also elected Justin Skala, Chief Operating Officer, North America, Europe, Africa/Eurasia and Global Sustainability at Colgate, as a new Vice Chair of the Board. Skala joins fellow Vice Chairs Nancy E. Calderon, Global Lead Partner, KPMG; Robert C. Lieber, Executive Managing Director, C-III Capital Partners; and Sandie O'Connor, Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer, J.P. Morgan Chase. Sal Maglietta, Executive Vice President, US Bank, reflected on his three-year term as Chair.
YMCA of Greater New York Announces Management Changes

The YMCA of Greater New York announced that Sharon Greenberger will serve as the new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 2015. She will succeed Jack Lund, who has served as president and CEO for ten years and will retire at the end of June. Ms. Greenberger currently serves as Senior Vice President, Facilities and Real Estate at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, a position she has held since 2011, and has more than 20 years of experience in urban planning, development and education in New York City.
