Penton's Agriculture Group announced that John Ecke will join as vice president, Digital Products, where he will be responsible for driving all digital sales and product development initiatives. Ecke will be involved with all of the Penton Agriculture Group brands some of which include The Farm Progress Show, Husker Harvest Days, The Farm Press properties, Farm Futures and BEEF Magazine. Ecke will be based in Penton's New York office and will report to Dan Bagan, Group President, Food & Agriculture. Most recently Ecke was UBM Tech's vice president, brand and product director. Penton's Contracting Business and the Mechanical Systems Group brands announced that industry veteran, Bob Mader, will expand his role to Content Director. In this new position, he will be responsible for Contracting Business.com, the HVAC-Talk.com Forum, CONTRACTOR Magazine, HPAC Engineering, all digital content and the Comfortech Industry Show. Mader will continue to report to Andy Friedman, Executive Director, Content and User Engagement. All editorial and content staff for all three core brands will now report to Mader. After 34 years with Penton, Mike Weil is retiring as Editorial Director of Contracting Business.com, HPAC Engineering brands, the industry's forum -- HVAC-Talk.com and the speaker selection and Master of Ceremonies for the annual Comfortech Industry Show. Weil's last full time day with Penton is on September 11, 2014. Weil will also continue writing for Contracting Business.com and contribute to the brand's online content.
