Subaru Launches Updated Versions of WRX and WRX STI Models

Subaru has launched an updated versions of its WRX and WRX STI models for the 2018 model year. The models are based on the earlier-generation Impreza. The WRX and WRX STI offer a new, more aggressive front fascia that includes a new grille design and larger lower grille opening. WRX Limited and STI models also features new LED Steering Response Headlights that turn with the vehicle's steering wheel, and exteriors with new roof rack mounting brackets. The WRX receives a Performance Package for 2018 that includes eight-way power Recaro seats, sunroof delete, upgraded JURID brake pads and red-painted brake callipers.

Subaru of America, Inc. reported sales results for the month and year to date of December 2016. For the month of December, the company reported sales of 63,177 vehicles against 56,274 vehicles for December 2015. The company reported record-breaking sales of 615,132 vehicles for the 2016 calendar year, an increase of 5.6% over the previous annual record of 582,675 vehicles set in 2015.

Subaru of America Receives Gen2 Connected Vehicle Support Contract

Agero, Inc. announced the extension of its partnership with Subaru of America to provide enhanced connected vehicle services to Subaru Gen2 STARLINK motorists. Leveraging its core foundation rooted in telematics, Agero will broaden its existing emergency roadside assistance and travel-related services by providing Subaru customers with enhanced driver assistance, including airbag and accident scene notifications, stolen vehicle tracking, and concierge services related to various driver inquiries and points of interest. When Subaru motorists require assistance, they can access Agero’s response team through the SUBARU STARLINK Connected Vehicle system. This system provides Subaru motorists with around-the-clock safety and security should they become involved in an accident, require emergency services or roadside assistance, or have a lost or stolen vehicle, as well as offers many other services. The Gen2 enhanced connected vehicle services are expected to launch in early 2018.
