Kraig Biocraft Laboratories reported the creation of the textile with its genetically engineered spider silk, Monster Silk. The company added that the textile was created in partnership with Warwick Mills. With the creation of the first Monster Silk knits, Kraig has established that its genetically engineered spider silk works well with existing manufacturing methods.

Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. and Warwick Mills, Inc. announced that they have signed a collaborative development agreement concerning the development and commercialization of advanced textiles utilizing Kraig's Monster Silk(TM) recombinant spider silk technology. Under terms of the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop innovative textile products based on Kraig's Monster Silk(TM) fibers. Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will jointly own textile product related intellectual property which is developed as a result of the collaboration. Joint development will initially focus on Monster Silk(TM) weaving, testing and near term applications. The companies believe that this collaborative relationship will help expedite the commercialization of Monster Silk(TM) and future spider silk based technical fibers.
