Precision Metalforming Association Announces Board Changes

The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) announced that Ron Lowry, owner and president of Dayton Rogers, was elected 2016 chairman of the PMA board of directors during the annual meeting of members on March 12, 2016 in Palm Springs, CA. Dave Arndt, president of Pentaflex Inc. in Springfield, OH, will serve as PMA board first vice chair, and Richard Sade, vice president of S&S Hinge Company in Bloomingdale, IL, will serve as second vice chair and treasurer. Lowry announced that the theme of his one-year term as PMA chairman is Manufacturing Matters, which is aligned with his personal 2016 New Year’s resolution: Complain less and do more, in every aspect of my life. Lowry pledged to use his PMA chairmanship to encourage manufacturers to join him in taking matters into their own hands in two key areas: closing the skills gap and helping elected officials and general public understand the importance of manufacturing.
Precision Metalforming Association and Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration Renew Alliance to Advance Workplace Safety

The East and West Michigan Districts of the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) renewed its formal alliance with the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) to help protect Michigan workers. The MIOSHA program is a part of the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). Forming its first MIOSHA alliance in 2009, this is the PMA's second alliance renewal to raise of MIOSHA's rulemaking and enforcement initiatives, provide training and education, and enhance communication and outreach related to worker protection, particularly within the metalforming industry. Key goals of the alliance include: Sharing information on OSHA and MIOSHA's emphasis programs, regulatory agenda, and opportunities to participate in the rulemaking process; Sharing information on occupational safety and health laws and standards; Participating in forums, roundtable discussions or meetings to help forge innovative workplace safety solutions; Encouraging worker participation in workplace safety and health; Developing effective training and education programs; and developing information on the recognition and prevention of workplace hazards, and enhancing communication of this information. There are many benefits to participating in an alliance with MIOSHA, including: Building trusting, cooperative relationships; Networking with others committed to workplace safety and health; Exchanging information about best practices; and leveraging resources to maximize worker safety and health protection.

The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) announced that William R. Smith, CEO of Termax Corporation in Lake Zurich, IL, was elected 2015 chairman of the PMA Board of Directors. PMA also announced that Ron Lowry, CEO and owner of Dayton Rogers in Minneapolis, MN, will serve as PMA Board first vice chair, and David Arndt, president of Pentaflex Inc. in Springfield, OH, will serve as Board second vice chair and treasurer.
