GTL Inspire® 1.5 Inmate Tablet Passes Military-Grade Drop Test

GTL announced that the Inspire® 1.5 corrections-grade inmate tablet has fully met the "Transit Drop" test requirements specified by MIL-STD-810G 516.6 Section 4.6.5. The Inspire 1.5 inmate tablet was evaluated by an independent testing laboratory in accordance with the U.S. Department of Defense Test Method Standard and survived the rigorous drop tests unscathed. GTL's Inspire 1.5 inmate tablet was subjected to the scientific rigors of an independent testing laboratory to assess its ability to withstand drops in everyday use, and the latest version of Inspire more than passed the test. The third-party lab followed the strict guidelines for drop testing defined in MIL-STD-810G 516.6. After dropping Inspire from a height of four feet onto a rigid surface a total of 26 times (dropped separately on each of the unit's 6 faces, 8 corners, and 12 edges), the GTL Inspire 1.5 device suffered no physical damage and no operational impairment, continuing to function exactly as it did before the tests.

GTL Announces Release of Inspire 1.5 (TG701)

GTL announced the release of Inspire® 1.5 (TG701), an enhanced inmate-use tablet that builds upon the success of Inspire 1.0 (TG700). These secure tablets are now equipped with updated corrections-grade features. Inspire 1.5 (TG701) operates on the same secure operating system as Inspire 1.0 (TG700). It also has the protocols and best practices that are part of GTL's five-layer security standard, including secure physical and wireless networks, a customized operating system, and customized hardware and applications. Both the TG700 and TG701 devices use the same charging adapters, carts and lockers, and all inmate accessories work with both models. As a portable communication device, GTL's Inspire inmate tablet features custom applications that provide a range of services, including e-learning, inmate phone calling, inmate messaging, inmate services such as commissary ordering and grievance filing, streaming music, a subscription game center, e-books, and access to a law library. The new Inspire 1.5 is on display in booth #327 at the American Correctional Association's (ACA [5]) Winter Conference in San Antonio, Texas, January 22-24.
