Kent & Curwen Seeks to Extend its Wholesale Accounts in the UK Following the Launch of its London Flagship

Kent & Curwen is seeking to extend its wholesale accounts in the UK following the launch of its London flagship. The 1,600 sq ft store, designed by the late David Collins, opened its doors at 2 Savile Row on October 25, 2013. The label was now looking to grow its wholesale partners for autumn 14 targeting department stores including Selfridges and Liberty, as well as independent boutiques. Kent & Curwen's autumn 13 and spring 14 collections will be stocked exclusively in Harrods. The new store opening will bring the brand 'back to its roots' and speak to the heritage of the label. Kent & Curwen is also launching in the US, having agreed a licencing deal with Li & Fung. The brand will open its first US store on Manhatten's Upper East Side in spring 14, and its autumn collection will also be available at Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and The Bay.

Kent & Curwen Appoints Simon Spurr as Creative Director and Senior Vice President; Announces to Open Stores

Kent & Curwen has appointed Simon Spurr as creative director and senior vice president. Spurr succeeds Michael Sondag. He will oversee product design, store development and marketing at the menswear brand with immediate effect. The designer joins the business from Tommy Hilfiger where he was the menswear creative consultant, working on runway collections from 2009 until February 2012. Prior to working at Hilfiger, Spurr ran his own eponymous menswear label from 2005 to 2012. The company to open a 1,500 sq ft store at 2 Savile Row in October 2013, and a 2,100 sq ft New York flagship on Madison Avenue next spring.

Kent & Curwen Enters into Distribution Agreement with Li & Fung

Kent & Curwen is launching in the US, having agreed a licencing deal with supplier and distributor Li & Fung. Trinity International, a division of Fung Group, will act as licensor and the brand will use Li & Fung's distribution platform to enter the country.
