nlyte Software, Inc. Key Developments

Nlyte Software Introduces Data Center Service Management

Nlyte Software introduced the first data center service management (DCSM) solutions combining data center infrastructure management, robust workflow capabilities and seamless integration into IT service management (ITSM) solutions. Nlyte now enables seamless integration between ITSM systems and physical data center workflows with new DCSM products: Nlyte for BMC ITSM, Nlyte for HP ITSM and Nlyte for ServiceNow ITSM. These products bridge the often-overlooked divide in IT organizations, enabling enterprises to maintain accurate, up-to-the minute information about their IT and data center assets, streamline their processes and improve the measurement of data center operations, thus improving service level agreements (SLAs). Benefits of using the Nlyte for ITSM editions include: More accurate information – By integrating Nlyte with existing ITSM solutions, enterprises can ensure information within their CMDB and asset management systems is synced in real time as changes occur in the data center. Additionally, any of the Nlyte for ITSM editions are able to track and provide a unique set of asset properties, such as exact location of assets, resources consumed by those assets and how assets are interconnected with one another, which augments CMDB and asset management systems. Tightly integrated processes – The Nlyte for ITSM DCSM solutions establish seamless processes across IT and into the data center, such as adding new resources, alerting IT to physical resource limitations in the data center and scheduled downtime, as well as migrations and consolidations. They also improve change management systems by providing more granular insight into the status of change request steps that occur in the data center, enabling more control and consistency. Improved accountability and measurement of efficiency and costs – The Nlyte for ITSM DCSM solutions provide improved transparency into data center processes, allowing the solutions to more accurately measure work being performed there. With this improved insight, organizations get a better understanding of the costs of delivering SLAs to the business when the data center is involved, as well as a complete total cost of ownership analysis for IT asset management systems.

Nlyte Software Introduces Nlyte Change Management Connector for CA

Nlyte Software introduced the newest offering in its ITSM connection portfolio, the Nlyte Change Management Connector for CA. Built upon Nlyte's robust connection framework, this new connector enables users of CA Technologies Service Desk Manager to integrate their existing business workflows with the associated workflow required in the data center. This functionality resulted from an enterprise customer that selected Nlyte over CA as their best-of-breed DCIM solution, but wanted to leverage its existing investment in CA Service Desk Manager. The new Nlyte Change Management Connector for CA enables users of both systems to create and update change requests in CA Service Desk Manager. The Nlyte Connector includes support for requester, affected users, creation detail, task priorities and all of the recommended status conditions defined within CA. It complies with CA's documented access mechanisms, and it complies with and enforces the appropriate security policies configured within the CA environment. As a result, companies using the Nlyte Change Management Connector for CA will have a seamless solution for managing modifications occurring in their data center from within CA Service Desk Manager.

Nlyte Software Debuts Hyperscale DCIM Solution to Automate Management of Massive and Dynamically Changing Data Centers

Nlyte Software introduced Nlyte Hyperscale Edition, which is designed to manage complex, highly dynamic data center environments with certified support for up to 150,000 racks and 30,000 asset changes a month. Built on Nlyte’s proven distributed enterprise architecture, Hyperscale Edition can scale across multiple physical servers to maintain a real-time interactive user experience for operators of even the and most complex data center environments. To accommodate the unique needs of these hyperscale data centers, Nlyte has added new capabilities and enhanced its architecture to ensure rapid application response times even under massive load. Taking advantage of Nlyte’s unique enterprise-class architecture, Hyperscale Edition is deployed in a highly distributed fashion. It is designed and certified to scale efficiently and enables enterprise-class application services – such as backup, restore, resiliency, redundancy and load balancing – to be included in the deployment. Hyperscale Edition includes Nlyte’s full portfolio of packaged, out-of-the-box connectors to support integration with existing management frameworks for virtualization, configuration management database (CMDB) and service desk. It also includes Nlyte’s new Big Data connector, which enables users to leverage vast quantities of real-time energy data throughout the DCIM-driven decision-making process. The Hyperscale Edition package also provides Nlyte’s full complement of mobile inventory management applications, including goods receiving, provisioning and auditing, which are otherwise à la carte options for users of other Nlyte products.
