Pritzker Hageman Law Firm Files a Lawsuit against Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc
Jul 20 17
Pritzker Hageman law firm has filed a lawsuit against Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. on behalf of a client who contracted Legionnaires’ disease after staying at The Guest House at Graceland, a hotel located at 3600 Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee. Attorneys Fred Pritzker, Brendan Flaherty and Ryan Osterholm, along with local counsel, filed the lawsuit on July 18, 2017, in the Circuit Court of Shelby County, Tennessee (Court Number: CT-003025-17 Div. III). Douglas and Marisol Johnson, residents of Miami Lakes, Florida, checked into The Guest House at Graceland on June 4, 2017, and stayed at the hotel for one night. The lawsuit alleges that while at the hotel, Mr. Johnson came into contact with Legionella, the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease, through “the normal use of The Guest House at Graceland’s water system". Later in June, Mr. Johnson was diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease. His condition was critical and life-threatening. He is still recovering. Mr. Johnson’s is one of 9 people sickened in a Legionnaires’ disease outbreak that the Shelby County Health Department began investigating in May of 2017. The lawsuit is seeking compensation for Mr. Johnson and his wife, Marisol, whose relationship with her husband has been harmed by the illness he allegedly contracted at the hotel.
