FrieslandCampina to Close Cheese Packaging Plant in Lochem, Netherlands; to Invest EUR 19 Million FrieslandCampina Cheese in Wolvega and Leerdam

FrieslandCampina announced that FrieslandCampina Cheese plans to close down the Den Hollander Food cheese packaging plant in Lochem, Netherlands and to transfer the activities to the cheese packaging plants in Wolvega and Leerdam. The management of FrieslandCampina Cheese plans to close down the cheese packaging plant in Lochem in the first quarter of 2016. 139 jobs will be lost as a result. As well as cutting cheese, Den Hollander Food packages cheese in slices, chunks and squares, and in grated form. Den Hollander Food's current location does not allow FrieslandCampina to key into future packaging requirements.
An amount of EUR 19 million will be invested at FrieslandCampina Cheese in Wolvega and Leerdam to set up new packaging lines and accommodate the relocation of packaging lines from Lochem. In the future, the plants in Wolvega and Leerdam will be equipped to handle a variety of cheese packaging formats for both the European and the international markets. The number of jobs in those plants will increase by nine.
FrieslandCampina Announces Departure of Sjoerd Galema from Board

FrieslandCampina has announced that Sjoerd Galema, a member of the board of dairy cooperative Zuivelcooperatie FrieslandCampina U.A. and member of the supervisory board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V., will stand down as a board member and relinquish his associated role on the supervisory board. Sjoerd Galema has served in both capacities since December 2011, when he was appointed to the Board by the Member Council of Zuivelcooperatie FrieslandCampina.

Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. announced that it will appoint Tine Snels as the new executive director of the Friesl and Campina Ingredients business group, effective June 1, 2015. Ms. Tine Snels will take over responsibility for the business group from Roelof Joosten, who will succeed Cees't Hart as CEO of Royal FrieslandCampina on the same date. Tine Snels joined FrieslandCampina in July 2012 as Managing Director of FrieslandCampina Kievit. Tine Snels has nearly 20 years' experience in management functions in the business-to-business ingredients, additives and animal feeds market.
