FrieslandCampina to Close Sleidinge Facility in 2015; to Transfer the Bulk of the Production at Sleidinge to its Aalter Facility
Oct 8 14
FrieslandCampina announced that it will transfer the bulk of the production at Sleidinge to its Aalter facility, and close the Sleidinge facility in 2015. The management of the company announced this to the works council and its employees. This would have an impact on the Sleidinge facility's 134 permanent employees. The company's intention to transfer the production from the production facility in Sleidinge to Aalter and close the Sleidinge facility is the result of declining demand for dairy drinks due to adverse market conditions in Europe. As an additional factor, the technology and packaging of the products produced in Sleidinge no longer meet the expectations of consumer.
