Evangel Names Michael Kolstad as Vice President for University Advancement, Effective Aug. 1, 2014

Michael Kolstad, a 1988 Evangel University graduate, has been named vice president for university advancement for Evangel, effective Aug. 1, 2014. Kolstad has served as chair of the department of music at Evangel since 2007. In that position, he has been an active partner in advancement endeavors including fundraising and alumni relations. He was the founder and first director for both the Evangel University Jazz Band in 1996 and the Evangel University Marching band in 2011. Kolstad will replace Jim Williams, who retired at the end of 2013.

Evangel Names Linda Allen as VP for Business and Finance Effective July 28, 2014

Linda Allen, a 1983 Evangel University graduate, has been named vice president for business and finance for Evangel, effective July 28, 2014. Allen is currently an independent financial consultant in the Phoenix area, according to a release from the university. Her career includes serving as director of finance for Northwest Airlines, chief accounting officer with Nextel Partners, vice president of finance for Sprint-Nextel and chief financial officer for Telesphere Networks.

Evangel University Names Sheri Phillips as Vice President for Student Development

Evangel University has named Sheri Phillips as vice president for student development. She had served as interim in the post during the 2013-14 academic year. Phillips joined the Evangel staff as a residence director. Since then, she has served as assistant to the dean of students, director of student life and director of career development. The vice president for student development reports to the president, serves as a member of the president's cabinet and university planning council, and represents the area of student development to the university and its constituents. The vice president also acts as a liaison between administration and students.
