Music Choice Promotes Damon Williams to Senior Vice President, Programming Strategy and Partnerships

Music Choice announced the promotion of Damon Williams to senior vice president, programming strategy and partnerships. The elevation comes as Music Choice continues its evolution into a premier consumer destination for music on television. In the newly created role, Williams will lead and develop high level programming strategies, initiatives and partnerships to help increase usage and audience for Music Choice. He will be responsible for identifying and growing external relationships to bring innovative content and monetization opportunities to the network. Programming strategies include a mix of content acquisitions, the creation of multi-platform artist initiatives and integrated monetization opportunities that further define the brand as an essential music destination. Williams will continue to be responsible for the company’s overall music strategy and label business development. He will lead all new business partnerships with artists, labels, managers and third party distributors like Maker Studios and Omnia Media to help drive network usage and grow its consumer audience. Williams was previously VP Programming for Music Choice and has been with the company since 1998. Under his guidance, the company launched its successful On Demand platform in 2005 which continues to be the #1 Free On Demand network with over 1.1 billion annual views. He was also influential in the launch of the company’s linear network Music Choice Play in 2010. Over the years, Williams has been instrumental in establishing and maintaining relationships in the music industry for Music Choice working with labels, managers, and both up-and-coming and established recording artists. In addition to his work at Music Choice, Williams serves as the chairman of the board of the Rhythm and Blues Foundation a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of R&B music and assisting legacy artists in need with grants and donations.

Music Choice Names Brett Leitner as Senior Director, Distribution Sales & Affiliate Relations

Music Choice announced the addition of Brett Leitner to the position of Senior Director, Distribution Sales & Affiliate Relations. In this position, Leitner will be responsible for securing carriage agreements for Music Choice with a heavy emphasis on securing Music Choice Play distribution. Leitner will be also responsible for overall affiliate sales strategy, contract negotiations, and implementation and sell in of key initiatives like TV Everywhere and IPTV solutions. Leitner comes from HBO where he spent the last ten years in their Domestic Network Distribution Group.

Music Choice, Inc. Appoints Mic Fox to the Position of Director of Programming & Strategy

Music Choice, Inc. announced the addition of Mic Fox to the position of Director, Programming & Strategy. In this newly created position, Fox will be responsible for the overall VOD programming strategy and vision for Music Choice On Demand and its Music Channels. He will oversee all day-to-day operations of the entire programming department including Music Choice Play. He will also work closely with other divisions within the company to increase audience growth through channel expansions, strategic artist integration programs and multiplatform initiatives to attract the next generation of MC users. Fox will report directly to Christina Tancredi, COO, Music Choice. Fox most recently served as Sr. Director, Global Digital Strategy at VEVO where he was part of the original team transplanted from UMG in 2009.
