Perkins Eastman Lance Hosey Faia as Chief Sustainability Officer
May 29 15
Perkins Eastman announced that Lance Hosey FAIA, LEED AP, BD+C, has joined the firm as its newest Principal and its first Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), as well as the firm s Board of Directors. Based out of the Washington, DC, office, Hosey s expertise and 25+ years of leadership will become integral to all the company sustainability and high-performance strategies, particularly as it moves forward with initiatives related to the AIA 2030 Commitment, which the firm signed earlier 2015. As the AIA s response to the 2030 Challenge, which tasks committed practices to make all new\ buildings, developments, and major renovations carbon-neutral by 2030, Hosey s vast experience in this arena will become an invaluable asset within the firm and to its clients. He brings with him a team of three sustainability professionals who will join later this summer. Lance Hosey currently chairs the USGBC s LEED Advisory Committee and serves on the Advisory Group for the AIA s Committee on the Environment (COTE). A prolific author as well, Hosey launched Architect Magazine s first sustainability column, which he wrote from 2007 to 2010. His writing has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Metropolis, Architectural Record, and The Huffington Post, among numerous other publications.
