Crestron Expands Family of No-Programming DigitalMedia(TM) 4K Multimedia Presentation Switchers

Crestron expands family of No-Programming DigitalMedia(TM) 4K Multimedia Presentation Switchers. With 8 inputs, DigitalMedia™ HD-MD8X1-4K provides 4K auto-switching for small rooms that require connection to room display via HDMI®. Built-in 4K scaler can convert any resolution to any other resolution, up to 4096 x 2160. DM-MD8X1-4K-C delivers all features of HD-MD8X1-4K, plus mic input and DM output, so HDBaseT® can be run to room display. DMPS3-4K-150-C adds 3-Series Control System® and 2 DM inputs for 10X1 4K switching solution. All are built on Crestron .AV Framework technology. All models feature 4K switching and scaling with simple setup powered by new Crestron .AV Framework™ technology; three versatile solutions to match specific needs. Rockleigh, NJ — Now, there’s a Crestron 4K presentation solution to match the technology needs of every room type and size, and application – and they require no programming. Based on the powerful DMP3-4K-150-C, the all-new, all-in-one 4K Scaling Presentation Switcher (HD-MD8X1-4K) provides a well priced 4K auto-switching solution for smaller rooms, such as huddle spaces, and smaller budgets. With up to eight inputs, the HD-MD8X1-4K provides the perfect fit for rooms that require connection to the room display via HDMI® — and at a breakthrough price. The built-in 4K scaler can convert any resolution to any other resolution, up to 4096x2160. The 4K Scaling Presentation Switcher with HDBaseT® Output (DM-MD8X1-4K-C) delivers all of the features of the HD-MD8X1-4K, plus a mic input and a DM output, so HDBaseT can be run to the room display. It’s the perfect fit for rooms larger than a huddle space. All three all-in-one presentation switchers are built on the new Crestron .AV Framework technology, so they’re ready to go right out of the box. Setup is easy and can be done right from an iPad®, laptop, or touch screen, without custom programming. Simply walk into the room, connect cables, specify sources and displays, and the system is up and running. We’ve prepared videos that demonstrate how .AV Framework makes it easy to set up systems in conference rooms and huddle spaces. Additionally, all three switchers adhere to the DM® 3.0 digital standard, which assures that they can be monitored and managed on the network, and deliver a consistent user experience in every room.

Crestron Introduces Wireless 6" Touch Screen with Voice Command Recognition

Crestron announced it is now shipping its new TST-602 Wireless Touch Screen. The TST-602 delivers dedicated wireless control, voice command recognition, and web browsing all in a stylish, ergonomic design. Even better, primary touch screen functionality is supported via Crestron ER wireless communications, lessening or eliminating the need for Wi-Fi. The TST-602 features high-resolution graphics and vibrant colors that bring exclusive Crestron Smart Graphics to life. The 5.7" capacitive touch screen, ultra-bright widescreen display, and H.264 streaming video deliver a striking interactive experience. In addition to its touch screen display, the TST-602 features 15 customizable tactile push-buttons, including two-button up/down for volume control or channel-select, and five-button D-pad for on-screen display navigation. Elegant illumination makes it easy to control all functions even in a dark room. The TST-602 also provides the ability to use voice commands to control virtually anything. Now, users can press a button on the touch screen and then speak commands like “Turn off projector” or “Start presentation.” Or, users can speak voice commands to choose a lighting scene, enter a password, and perform many other functions. High-performance streaming video capability makes it possible to view security cameras and other video sources right on the touch screen. Native support for H.264 and MJPEG formats allows the TST-602 to display live streaming video from an IP camera, a streaming server, or a DigitalMedia switcher. To lessen or eliminate the need for Wi-Fi, primary touch screen functionality for the TST-602 is supported via Crestron ER wireless communications. Crestron ER wireless communication is enabled via the Crestron CEN-ERFGW-POE Extended Range RF Wireless Gateway for ultra-dependable wireless performance up to 200 feet indoors. While the TST-602 can be operated using only ER wireless, advanced wireless capabilities such as streaming video, intercom, Web browsing, and dynamic graphics are supported using both ER and Wi-Fi together (dual-mode). The TST-602 supports b/g/n Wi-Fi connections and WEP, WPA, and WPA2 security protocols. The TST-602 incorporates new fast-charging Lithium ion battery technology that makes it possible to keep the device docked indefinitely without killing the battery. The result is extraordinarily long battery life. Additionally, to help extend battery life, the Instant-Waking® feature allows the TST-602 to go to sleep within seconds of putting it down. If necessary, the battery in the TST-602 is field replaceable.
