Crestron Electronics, Inc. Key Developments

Crestron Expands DigitalMedia(TM) 4K Lineup with Introduction of Copper Input Blade and HDMI Output Blade

Crestron continues to expand its standard-setting DigitalMedia solutions with the introduction of two new blades designed to enable Crestron DM-MD64X64 or DM-MD128X128 switchers to reliably deliver 4K and Ultra HD video, the high available resolutions for professional applications. Each blade provides eight inputs or outputs, can be integrated on the same platform with ease, and adds support for HDCP 2.2, an industry first. DigitalMedia is still the AV industry’s most complete, scalable, and reliable 4K HDBaseT certified distribution system. Now shipping, the new 8-Channel 4K HDMI Input Blade for DM switchers (DMB-4K-I-C) provides eight DM inputs, and supports any resolution up to 4K and Ultra HD video. The DMB-4K-I-C input blade and the 8-Channel HDBaseT Certified 4K DigitalMedia Output Blade (DMB-4K-O-C) are compatible with the PoDM (Power over DM) Redundant Power Supply (DM-PSU-3X8-RPS), the first highly reliable power over HDBaseT compatible power supply. Connected to the PoDM power supply, each blade drives up to eight PoDM endpoints. The DMB-4K-O-HD output blade provides eight independent HDMI outputs and is designed for 4K/60 scaling and audio extracting capabilities. Each output can be individually scaled, driving any frame rate and resolution for the best possible image on every display. Audio extracting enables the audio to de-embed from the HDMI video and transmit the digital audio to powered speakers, amplifiers, and other audio components. Scaling and audio extracting functions are coming soon and will be easily activated via Ethernet for installed systems.

Crestron Expands Family of No-Programming DigitalMedia(TM) 4K Multimedia Presentation Switchers

Crestron expands family of No-Programming DigitalMedia(TM) 4K Multimedia Presentation Switchers. With 8 inputs, DigitalMedia™ HD-MD8X1-4K provides 4K auto-switching for small rooms that require connection to room display via HDMI®. DM-MD8X1-4K-C delivers all features of HD-MD8X1-4K, plus mic input and DM output, so HDBaseT® can be run to room display. DMPS3-4K-150-C adds 3-Series Control System® and 2 DM inputs for 10X1 4K switching solution. All are built on Crestron .AV Framework technology. All models feature 4K switching and scaling with simple setup powered by new Crestron .AV Framework™ technology; three versatile solutions to match specific needs. Rockleigh, NJ — Now, there’s a Crestron 4K presentation solution to match the technology needs of every room type and size, and application – and they require no programming. Based on the powerful DMP3-4K-150-C, the all-new, all-in-one 4K Scaling Presentation Switcher (HD-MD8X1-4K) provides a well priced 4K auto-switching solution for smaller rooms, such as huddle spaces, and smaller budgets. With up to eight inputs, the HD-MD8X1-4K provides the perfect fit for rooms that require connection to the room display via HDMI® — and at a breakthrough price. The built-in 4K scaler can convert any resolution to any other resolution, up to 4096x2160. The 4K Scaling Presentation Switcher with HDBaseT® Output (DM-MD8X1-4K-C) delivers all of the features of the HD-MD8X1-4K, plus a mic input and a DM output, so HDBaseT can be run to the room display. It’s the perfect fit for rooms larger than a huddle space. All three all-in-one presentation switchers are built on the new Crestron .AV Framework technology, so they’re ready to go right out of the box. Setup is easy and can be done right from an iPad®, laptop, or touch screen, without custom programming. Simply walk into the room, connect cables, specify sources and displays, and the system is up and running. We’ve prepared videos that demonstrate how .AV Framework makes it easy to set up systems in conference rooms and huddle spaces. Additionally, all three switchers adhere to the DM® 3.0 digital standard, which assures that they can be monitored and managed on the network, and deliver a consistent user experience in every room.
