National Association of Corporate Directors Southern California Chapter Appoints Rafael Pastor to its Board of Directors

The Southern California Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors announced the expansion of its Chapter leadership with the appointment of Rafael Pastor to its Board of Directors. Mr. Pastor has more than 25 years of senior management and corporate governance experience. He currently serves on the Boards or Advisory Boards of Boost Academy, insureWell, MD Revolution, Knowledge Universe, RosettaBooks, and Thuzio. He also serves as an advisor to a major international private equity firm. Previously, he served nine years as Chairman & CEO of Vistage International, guiding the growth and ultimately the sale of the world's large for-profit chief executive membership organization with 20,000 senior executives in 15 countries. He was also the Co-Founder & Co-Chairman of Sonenshine Pastor, an investment banking and venture capital firm, now Sonenshine Partners, where he remains a senior advisor. Previously, Mr. Pastor has held senior executive positions at global media and entertainment companies including CEO of Hoyts Cinemas Corporation; President of USA Networks International; Executive Vice President, International, of News Corporation and Fox Television; and President of CBS/Fox Video International. He began his career as an attorney, first at the Wall Street law firm of Hawkins, Delafield and Wood and then as Associate General Counsel at CBS Inc.

The National Association of Corporate Directors announced that Dr. Karen Horn has been appointed to the position of vice chair of its board, and Sue W. Cole and Nicholas M. Donofrio have been elected as directors. Dr. Karen Horn is a director of Eli Lilly and company and chair of the compensation committee. She also chairs the nominating and governance committee of the Simon Property Group and the audit committee of Norfolk Southern Corp. and is a director of T. Rowe Price Mutual Funds. Horn serves on the Governing Council of the Investment Company Institute, is vice chair of the U.S. Russia Foundation for Economic Development and the Rule of Law, and is vice chair of the National Bureau of Economic Research. She is also a partner at Brock Capital Group. Sue W. Cole is a director of Martin Marietta Materials and chair of the compensation committee. She serves on the boards of Biscuitville, High Point Bank, and Diversified Trust Company. A founding director and past president of NACD's Carolinas Chapter, she also serves on the boards of Cone Health Foundation, United Way of Greater Greensboro, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro University Investment Fund, and the Greensboro Science Center. Nicholas M. Donofrio currently serves on the boards of Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and Delphi Automotive plc, and chairs the innovation and technology committees for both companies. In addition, he sits on the board of Bank of New York Mellon, where he chairs the technology committee, and is a director of Liberty Mutual and The MITRE Co.

National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) announced that it has promoted Peter R. Gleason to the role of president. Gleason will play an important role in helping NACD continue to advance exemplary board leadership in an increasingly complex environment. He is well-known and respected in the governance community, particularly among members and partners. In his new role, Peter will be responsible for ensuring NACD effectively manages growth while continuing to deliver resources to help directors navigate the key issues influencing today's and tomorrow's boardroom. Gleason will assume the president role effective January 1, 2015, and he will continue to report directly to Daly.
