Aug 15 16
Airbus DS Communications has brought together the equipment, software and support services Public Safety agencies at the local, regional and state levels need to transition to Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1). VESTA NEXT is comprised of four crucial components: IP Call Handling through VESTA® 9-1-1 and VESTA SMS; Call Routing with VESTA Router and Next Generation Core Services; ESInet design and creation; and GIS Services. Airbus DS Communications has achieved Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) status in multiple states, thereby providing PSAPs in-region or in-state networks. As part of VESTA NEXT, agencies can count on Airbus DS Communications' landmark VESTA Services, which includes engineering, furnishing, installation, maintenance and communications support to help implement and maintain the new system with ease.
NICE and Airbus DS Communications Expand Technology Partnership
Jun 27 16
NICE and Airbus DS Communications, Inc. have expanded their technology partnership to equip public safety answering points, or PSAPs, with integrated solutions for managing these communications. Airbus DS Communications will offer NICE's suite of NG9-1-1-ready solutions to its customers. This includes NICE solutions for audio recording, text-to-911 logging, screen capture and NICE Inform, the digital evidence management solution. The offering further expands Airbus DS Communications' already robust VESTA next generation public safety communications solutions, which span NG9-1-1, land mobile radio and emergency notification. NICE and Airbus DS Communications are deploying their integrated solution at seven Brazos Valley Council of Governments (BVCOG) sites in Texas. BVCOG is currently taking text-to-911 calls through the VESTA 9-1-1 integrated VESTA SMS system and will capture and manage these text communications-along with 9-1-1 and radio audio-using NRX and NICE Inform to create a unified, complete incident reconstruction environment. The VESTA 9-1-1 solution offers powerful NG9-1-1 applications for call handling, text-to-911, mapping and data management and analytics.
Airbus DS Communications, Inc. and West Collaborate to Streamline Text-to-911 Adoption for Public Safety Answering Points
Apr 26 16
Airbus DS Communications, Inc. and West launched a collaboration designed to make it easier for public safety agencies to coordinate, obtain and implement the infrastructure necessary to accept SMS text messages within 9-1-1 call centers. Prior to this collaboration, most public safety answering points (PSAPs) had to work with multiple, separate entities to request and coordinate the pieces needed for text-to-9-1-1 capabilities. Now for customers who want the Airbus DS Communications VESTA SMS application and the West TCC (Text Control Center) TXT2-9-1-1 service—one call to West or Airbus DS Communications links PSAPs to a tailor-built website where all needed information is gathered and then sent to the appropriate contacts in both companies to put the process in motion. This collaboration simplifies the process for PSAPs and illustrates the willingness of these key industry leaders to jointly serve the needs of public safety. In addition to streamlining the process, the collaboration also sidesteps another common issue faced by PSAPs. When coordinated independently, the pieces necessary for text-to-9-1-1 often were obtained one at a time or out of sync, delaying the roll out of text-to-9-1-1 service to the public.
