South Carolina County Selects Airbus DS Communications to Provide 9-1-1 Solution and Network

South Carolina's Greenville County Office of E-9-1-1, an Airbus DS Communications customer for nearly 10 years, recently upgraded its 9-1-1 call taking system to the VESTA® 9-1-1 solution adding greater flexibility and reliability to the county's public safety communications network. Airbus DS Communications created the new network infrastructure needed for the VESTA 9-1-1 system which is an IP-based call delivery solution. For Greenville County, the transition to the new solution was seamless with minimal calltaker training needed. The new VESTA 9-1-1 solution has increased calltakers' efficiency with its speed dialing functions, its ability to easily pull location coordinates for a call, and its flexibility that enables calltakers to log-in at any console, which speeds response when a crisis arises.

Airbus DS Communications Introduces VESTA NEXT, the Straightforward Way to Next Generation 9-1-1

Airbus DS Communications has brought together the equipment, software and support services Public Safety agencies at the local, regional and state levels need to transition to Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1). Called VESTA NEXT, the portfolio provides these entities the critical components and the guidance for a clear way to NG9-1-1. VESTA NEXT is comprised of four crucial components: IP Call Handling through VESTA® 9-1-1 and VESTA SMS; Call Routing with VESTA Router and Next Generation Core Services; ESInet design and creation; and GIS Services. Airbus DS Communications has achieved Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) status in multiple states, thereby providing PSAPs in-region or in-state networks. As part of VESTA NEXT, agencies can count on Airbus DS Communications' landmark VESTA Services, which includes engineering, furnishing, installation, maintenance and communications support to help implement and maintain the new system with ease.

NICE and Airbus DS Communications Expand Technology Partnership

NICE and Airbus DS Communications, Inc. have expanded their technology partnership to equip public safety answering points, or PSAPs, with integrated solutions for managing these communications. Airbus DS Communications will offer NICE's suite of NG9-1-1-ready solutions to its customers. This includes NICE solutions for audio recording, text-to-911 logging, screen capture and NICE Inform, the digital evidence management solution. The offering further expands Airbus DS Communications' already robust VESTA next generation public safety communications solutions, which span NG9-1-1, land mobile radio and emergency notification. NICE and Airbus DS Communications are deploying their integrated solution at seven Brazos Valley Council of Governments (BVCOG) sites in Texas. BVCOG is currently taking text-to-911 calls through the VESTA 9-1-1 integrated VESTA SMS system and will capture and manage these text communications-along with 9-1-1 and radio audio-using NRX and NICE Inform to create a unified, complete incident reconstruction environment. The VESTA 9-1-1 solution offers powerful NG9-1-1 applications for call handling, text-to-911, mapping and data management and analytics.
