The Cadmus Group Wins Contract to Support Western Interstate Energy Board on 111(d) Compliance

The Cadmus Group, Inc. announced that it has been awarded a contract with the Western Interstate Energy Board to conduct research exploring multi-state compliance options for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) proposed 111(d) rule, also known as the Clean Power Plan. Cadmus’ final report will be published in April 2015. In this project, 'Exploring the Modular Approach to Multi-state Compliance with EPA’s Proposed Rule Under Clean Air Act 111(d) in the West', Cadmus will be conducting research and producing a final report that helps WIEB explore a coordinated (modular) approach to multi-state compliance with the proposed rule. This approach has the potential to keep compliance costs low while allowing for states to utilize consistent tracking and reporting mechanisms for compliance. The final report will assess multi-state collaboration on select portions—referred to as 'modules'—of state compliance plans that consider renewable energy, energy efficiency, and re-dispatch (supplanting coal and oil with lower-emitting natural gas) approaches to reducing emissions.
