The Asia Foundation Announces New Trustees Appointments

The Asia Foundation announced the election of four new members to its Board of Trustees: L. Brooks Entwistle, Reuben Jeffery III, Theodore L. Eliot III, and Meredith Ludlow. In recognition of their continued dedication and support, the Foundation also designated five former trustees, who completed their terms of service in January 2015, as Trustees Emeriti of The Asia Foundation: Gina Lin Chu, Ellen Laipson, Susan J. Pharr, Missie Rennie, and Judith Wilbur. L. Brooks Entwistle joined The Asia Foundation's Board of Trustees in 2015. As the Chief Executive Officer of Everstone Capital, Brooks leads the day to day management of the firm, with a particular focus on large deal origination and cross border transactions. Reuben Jeffery III joined The Asia Foundation's Board of Trustees in 2015. He is the President, Chief Executive Officer and member of the board of Rockefeller & Co. and Rockefeller Financial Services Inc. Theodore L. Eliot III joined The Asia Foundation's Board of Trustees in 2015. He is the president of the Connell Brothers Division of Wilbur-Ellis Company. Meredith Ludlow joined The Asia Foundation's Board of Trustees in 2015. She is the Director of Global Advisory at Gensler, an architecture and design firm, where she focuses on global market expansion, intelligence and strategy. Gina Lin Chu served on the board of trustees of The Asia Foundation 2006-2015, and was appointed Trustee Emerita in June 2015. She is a longstanding supporter of various non-profit organizations and projects that help promote multi-cultural awareness, particularly among Asian and American communities. Ms. Lin Chu is a Trustee Emerita at Asia Society, New York. She was an Independent Director of the Singapore listed company, Medtecs. Ellen Laipson served on the board of trustees of The Asia Foundation 2003-2015, and was appointed Trustee Emerita in June 2015. After 25 years of government service, she became the president and chief executive officer of the Henry L. Stimson Center in April of 2002. Susan Pharr served on the board of trustees of The Asia Foundation 1995-2015, and was appointed Trustee Emerita in June 2015. She is Edwin O. Reischauer Professor of Japanese Politics and director of the WCFIA Program on U.S.-Japan Relations, Harvard University. Missie Rennie Taylor served on The Asia Foundation's board of trustees 1999-2015, and was appointed Trustee Emerita in June 2015. She was elected as Vice Chair of the board in 2008. She is currently a strategic media consultant and is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She has spent 30 years in television news, for the most part at CBS as the executive producer of CBS News Sunday Morning and CBS Weekend News. Judy Wilbur served on the board of trustees of The Asia Foundation 2006-2015, and was appointed Trustee Emerita in June 2015.

The Asia Foundation Announces New Chairman of the Board and Three New Trustees

The Asia Foundation announced the election of David M. Lampton as Chairman of the Board and the addition of three new members to its Board of Trustees: Ralph L. Boyce, Lauren Kahea Moriarty, and Kathleen Stephens. Lampton joined The Foundation's Board of Trustees in 2006, becoming the Chairman of the Board in 2014. Boyce joined The Foundation's Board of Trustees in 2014. He was appointed vice president of Boeing International and president of Boeing Southeast Asia in February 2008. Moriarty joined The Foundation's Board of Trustees in 2014. She is an educator, committed community leader, frequent public speaker, and former dean, and diplomat. In 2010-2013, Moriarty served as Dean of Academics at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, a U.S. Department of Defense educational institution. Stephens joined the Foundation's Board of Trustees in 2014. She is currently the 2013-14 Koret Fellow at the Korean Studies Program (KSP) at Stanford University's Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center.
