East Boston Savings Bank has announced the opening of two new branch offices in Brookline and Dorchester, Massachusetts, in the US. The Brookline site is located at 1050 Beacon Street which is on the National Register of Historical Buildings. The Bank will be renovating the space formerly occupied for over 85 years by Kolgian Oriental Rugs. The location is ideally situated between St. Mary's and Carlton Streets has great visibility and is easily accessible by the MBTA Green line. Meridian Interstate Bancorp, Inc. announced that on March 5, 2014, the company and its wholly owned subsidiary, East Boston Savings Bank, named Richard J. Gavegnano President of the company and the Bank, and John A. Carroll Chief Operating Officer of the company and the Bank. Mr. Gavegnano already serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and the Bank. These appointments were made following the untimely passing of President and Chief Operating Officer Deborah Jackson. Mr. Carroll, age 47, joined the Bank in 2012, serving as Chief Information Officer.
