Claremont Graduate University Appoints Robert Schult as Interim President, Effective July 1, 2015

Claremont Graduate University has named former Nestle USA President and Chief Operating Officer Robert (Bob) Schult as interim president. Schult will step in for current President Deborah Freund, who announced in December she would not seek a second term. He takes office on July 1 and will work closely with Freund and other administrators over the next three months to ensure a smooth transition. Schult will bring a distinct business sense to an already established academic leadership team. As former president and chief operating officer of Nestle USA, and a co-founder and former managing director at VMG Equity Partners, he has held key positions managing more than 50 consumer brands and $8 billion in sales across diverse product segments. Schult has served on Claremont Graduate University's Board of Trustees since 2011.

Claremont Graduate University Creates New Center for Management in the Creative Industries

Claremont Graduate University announced the creation of a new Center for Management in the Creative Industries, or 'CMCI,' which will combine CGU's current art business and arts management programs into one single center for graduate business and management education dedicated to the creative industries. A collaboration between Sotheby's Institute of Art and Claremont Graduate University's Drucker School of Management, School of Arts and Humanities, and Getty Leadership Institute, the Center for Management in the Creative Industries brings together core values and a unique philosophy about leadership and management in the arts. Convening key partners, distinguished faculty, and industry professionals, the CMCI provides management education and privileged access to students who aspire to success in the creative fields - as makers, producers and leaders.
