In this role, Dr. Jain will develop strategies, priorities and programs to enhance the health system’s position, in collaboration with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He will also oversee efforts to facilitate interdisciplinary research, interaction between basic science and clinical departments, and recruitment of high-level research faculty that distinguish UH and impact health through the next generation of patient treatments.
University Hospitals Names Official Health Care Partner of the Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns made official the partnership that makes University Hospitals (UH) in Cleveland the official health care partner of the Cleveland Browns for the next 10 years. As the Official Health Care Partner of the Browns, University Hospitals Case Medical Center, the health system's nationally recognized academic medical center, will provide a complete team of physician specialists covering every aspect of the team's health care needs. Both organizations' leaders described a commitment to co-create an innovative sports medicine program based on medical and scientific evidence-based research to advance the athletic performance and the overall health and fitness of the Browns players. In collaboration with the Browns, UH has agreed to develop a trans-disciplinary sports medicine team that includes nearly all medical specialties. The unique concept of focusing a diverse team of physician specialists on the players' medical and training needs will prepare them to compete at the highest level throughout an entire season, while building a strong foundation for long-term health. UH will also manage and provide urgent care to Browns fans at FirstEnergy Stadium and health and wellness programs for the Browns franchise and their families. In a separate agreement, UH will become a sponsor of the Cleveland Browns that extends to 2024. As part of that investment, UH will receive extensive signage at the stadium and other advertising opportunities.
University Hospitals Appoints Jeffrey H. Peters as Chief Operating Officer

University Hospitals announced that Jeffrey H. Peters has been named Chief Operating Officer for University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Peters will begin transitioning into his role in early January 2014 and join UH full time by March 31, 2014. In his role, Dr. Peters will oversee the health system's operations and clinical program development. He will advance UH's mission by further integrating teaching and research into clinical operations and strengthening professional relationships between UH and the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He will expand translational research with the Office of Technology Transfer, which is shared between UH and the School of Medicine. Dr. Peters comes to UH from Strong Memorial Hospital and the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where he served as chair of the department of surgery since 2004.
