Atlanta Braves Announces Management Changes

Atlanta Braves president John Schuerholz has been named vice chairman of the organization and will step down from his role as president. Schuerholz, who was hired as the team's general manager in 1990, will reduce his daily duties and serve in more of a consulting role. He will continue to lead the Braves search for a new Spring Training home for 2018. President of Baseball Operations John Hart will continue in his role with the Club and will report to both McGuirk and Schuerholz. Plant and Schiller will report directly to McGuirk.

Atlanta Braves Names Adam Zimmerman as Vice President of Marketing, Effective January 4, 2016

The Atlanta Braves have named Adam Zimmerman Vice President of Marketing, effective January 4, 2016. He will report to Derek Schiller, Braves Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Zimmerman's responsibilities will include the management and strategy for all marketing and branding of the Braves. This will include leading consumer and digital marketing, community affairs and game entertainment for the team. Zimmerman will also play a pivotal role in the development of technology offerings for fans as well as the use of data analytics. Additionally, Zimmerman will help with the marketing strategy for The Battery Atlanta, the Braves new mixed-use development project adjacent to SunTrust Park. Zimmerman has spent the last 18 years with CSE (formerly Career Sports and Entertainment), most recently as agency president, successfully generating new business, managing their existing portfolio an leading the award winning agency with cutting edge programs and fan engagement through technology.

The Atlanta Braves Promotes John Coppolella to General Manager

The Atlanta Braves have promoted John Coppolella to general manager following three seasons as assistant GM. The team said in a statement Coppolella has agreed to a four-year contract through the 2019 season, a term that will include the Braves' first three seasons at their new SunTrust Park. The promotion was expected. Coppolella has worked with Hart since October 2014 in all duties normally handled by a general manager, including player evaluations and contract negotiations.
