The Electric Reliability Council of Texas has selected new leaders for two key areas associated with grid and market operations. Woody Rickerson, currently director of Grid Coordination, will be vice president of Grid Planning and Operations, and Kenan Ogelman, director of Energy Market Policy for CPS Energy, will be vice president of Commercial Operations. Rickerson, an ERCOT employee since 2000, has been involved in developing the tools used to operate the ERCOT grid since initial development of the ERCOT zonal market system in 2000, with a number of increasingly responsible roles prior to his most recent position. A licensed professional engineer, he also has worked for utilities in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. Ogelman also has been involved in the ERCOT market since it began. He previously chaired ERCOT's Technical Advisory Committee and served as a senior economist for the Texas Office of Public Utility Counsel, which represents residential electric consumers in Texas. He currently is president of the Gulf Coast Power Association and has taught economics at the University of Texas at Arlington and St. Edwards University. New York ISO also announced that ERCOT Chief Operating Officer Brad Jones will become its Chief Executive Officer in October 2015. ERCOT has named Chief of Staff Jeyant Tamby to serve as Interim Chief Operating Officer until his successor is identified.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas' (ERCOT) Board of Directors selected Bill Magness to become ERCOT's next president and chief executive officer. Current ERCOT President and CEO Trip Doggett announced in June 2015 that he plans to retire in 2016. Magness currently serves as ERCOT's general counsel and senior vice president for Governance, Risk and Compliance.

Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) announced that its President and CEO, H.B. 'Trip' Doggett plans to retire in 2016. Doggett began work in the ERCOT market in 1998 as a consultant to Austin Energy during design of the rules for the zonal market. Beginning in 2000, he helped ERCOT, as an independent consultant, to build its zonal systems and begin nodal market design. He joined the ERCOT staff in 2008 as chief operating officer overseeing system operations, system planning, market operations and compliance and in 2010 was named president and chief executive officer.
