Altice Considering A Sale Of Its Operations In Belgium

Altice N.V. (ENXTAM:ATC) is considering the sale of its operations in Belgium. Altice recently acquired a majority interest in the Belgian cableco Coditel Brabant in 2003 for €82 million and went on to give it the same Numericable branding as its French sister company. Multinational telecoms investment group is reportedly considering the sale of its operations in Belgium, with the unit valued at up to €500 million ($567 million) according to a report from the Financial Times.

Altice N.V. (ENXTAM:ATC) is looking for acquisition opportunities. Altice could target more U.S. growth through acquisitions, a top executive said, after the European telecoms group completed a $17.7 billion deal to buy Cablevision Systems ( CVC.N ), its second U.S. multi-billion cable purchase in under a year. "We will continue to grow through acquisitions, either by buying more cable in other geographies in the country or by looking at other revenue streams," Dexter Goei, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Altice USA, said in an interview. "There's a lot of large players and a lot of medium size players such as ourselves who may look to partner up or do things," he said.

Altice N.V. Appointed Michel Combes as chief executive officer of the company with immediate effect. He will continue his day-to-day responsibilities for the Altice Group and have all operating affiliates, country CEOs and corporate functions report to him. Michel Combes will lead Altice`s executive committee. In his new role, Michel Combes will continue to provide the critical leadership he has given since joining as chief operating officer with a particular focus on operational excellence, service innovation and group collaboration. Michel Combes will also join the board of Altice N.V. as director. Patrick Drahi will step down from his position as president of Altice N.V. As founder and controlling shareholder of Altice, he will continue to set out the strategic, operational and technological agenda for the group. To this effect, Patrick Drahi will lead the newly formed Altice Group Advisory Council.
