The American Petroleum Institute (API) has appointed Lisa Salley to the position of Global Industry Services (GIS) vice president. Previously, Salley served as vice president and general manager of US-based safety and certification company UL in the Energy and Power Technologies division. She has also held senior executive roles at GE and Rohm & Haas.

American Petroleum Institute Inc. has elected ConocoPhillips chairman and CEO Ryan Lance to the role of chairman of API's board of directors. In addition, Phillips 66 chairman and CEO Greg Garland has been named chair of the finance committee. Both appointments are effective 1 January 2016. Lance has previously served in senior management and technical positions within ConocoPhillips, and has filled the role of chairman and CEO since 2012. Garland has held numerous executive and technical positions within the oil and natural gas and chemical industries, and has served as chairman and CEO of Phillips 66 since 2012.
