Journal Broadcast Group announced it has reached a new retransmission consent agreement for carriage of Journal stations by DISH Network in all of Journal’s markets: Milwaukee (WTMJ); Nashville, Tenn. (WTVF); Las Vegas (KTNV); Green Bay/Appleton (WGBA/WACY), Wis.; Omaha, Neb. (KMTV); Lansing, Mich. (WSYM); Fort Myers, Fla. (WFTX); Boise, Id. (KIVI/KNIN); Twin Falls, Id. (KSAW); and Tucson, Ariz. (KGUN/KWBA).
Journal Broadcast Group Names Brian McHale as New Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

Journal Broadcast Group has named Brian McHale the company's new Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. In this role, McHale will oversee the leadership, management, implementation and long-term planning of the company's technical and physical infrastructure across its 13 television stations and 35 radio stations in 11 states. He will also ensure the efficient and on-schedule delivery of media content, identify emerging technologies and how to profitably deploy them, and work closely with Journal's leadership team to develop the company's operational and strategic direction. McHale will report jointly to Debbie Turner, Executive Vice President -- Television, and Steve Wexler, Executive Vice President - Radio. McHale joins Journal from Fisher Communications, where he served as Vice President of Technology for three years. McHale will begin in his new role in April 7 and will work with Andy Laird, former CTO of Journal Broadcast Group, to transition Laird's responsibilities throughout 2014. Laird announced in October 2013 his intention to retire later this year.

Journal Broadcast Group, the broadcast business of Journal Communications Inc. announced organizational changes to its leadership team reflecting the group's focus on its two primary businesses: Television and Radio. Debbie Turner, EVP and General Manager WTVF/Nashville, was named Executive Vice President of Television for Journal Broadcast Group, reporting to Andre Fernandez, President and CFO of Journal Communications. Steve Wexler, EVP and General Manager of Journal Broadcast Group's Milwaukee Radio and Television operations, was named Executive Vice President of Radio for Journal Broadcast Group, also reporting to Fernandez. Jim Prather, EVP and General Manager of KTNV/Las Vegas, will continue to oversee operations for KTNV, but will step away from his regionally aligned role as head of Journal Broadcast Group's Western region to assume group-wide strategic responsibilities for a number of strategic Television efforts including retransmission consent agreement negotiations, network relations, original programming initiatives and TV Everywhere strategy and execution. He will report to Turner in this role.
