Charles L. Yarbrough, a longtime Huntington dermatologist, has been named inaugural chairman of the newly formed department of dermatology at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. He is board-certified in dermatology by the American Academy of Dermatology and also is board-certified by the American Boards of Pathology and Dermatology in Dermatopathology. Yarbrough has served as a clinical professor at Marshall since 1977.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin appointed seven members to the Marshall University Board of Governors. New members appointed to the Marshall University Board of Governors include James Bailes, of Huntington; Phil Cline, of Huntington; Tim Dagostine, of Huntington and Christie Kinsey, of Lavalette. They replace Michael Farrell, Verna Gibson, Letitia "Tish" Chafin and John Hess.

Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine officials announced the appointment of Dr. Todd H. Davies as the new director of research development and translation for the Marshall Clinical Research Center. He also has a faculty appointment as research clinical associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine. Davies, who previously served as the chief executive officer for ADS Biotechnologies in Toledo, Ohio, is responsible for developing and maintaining a plan for long-term, sustained research growth, including building a framework for accelerating the clinical trial process; developing administrative policies and procedures; working with the university's Technology Transfer Office to develop patenting and licensing strategies for the School of Medicine; and verifying compliance with state and federal guidelines.
