North Dakota State University and Sanford Health Announce Research Partnership

North Dakota State University and Sanford Health will conduct collaborative research on human nutrition, weight management and other dietary-related areas as part of a seed-grant initiative developed between the two organizations. The research will address key objectives of the Profile by Sanford program. NDSU researchers will have opportunities to collaborate with investigators from Sanford Research on topics like metabolism, food choices and consumption, prenatal nutrition, genetics, development of sensors that monitor wellness factors and food manufacturing and nutritional interactions with the human microbiome. Research findings relevant to Profile will be considered as the program evolves and expands. Sanford will provide $250,000 annually for five years for the seed-grant program. The system utilizes meal-replacement products, nutritionally complete foods, qualified health coaches and client tracking of body weight, blood pressure and physical activity through smart wireless technology. Jawbone UP24 activity trackers are integrated with the Profile app to allow members to track their movement and sleep patterns. A new fitness tracker will provide additional measurable data helpful to members to monitor progress.

North Dakota State University (NDSU) Provost Beth Ingram has announced that Marc Wallman has been named vice president for information technology at NDSU. Wallman has more than 13 years of leadership experience in higher education information technology. Since February 2012, he has filled the role of vice president for information technology and chief information officer on an interim basis at NDSU. As vice president for information technology, Wallman will continue to lead the NDSU Information Technology Division in efforts to provide reliable systems and services and to encourage the adoption of innovative technologies that benefit research, teaching, learning and outreach. Wallman will lead all operations of the IT Division to support the mission of North Dakota State University and other institutions within the North Dakota University System that are served by the division.
North Dakota State University Names Elizabeth "Liz" O'Reilly as Director of Soccer Operations

North Dakota State University announced that Elizabeth "Liz" O'Reilly has been named the new director of soccer operations. O'Reilly will assist the NDSU coaching staff with team travel, game-day preparations, video exchange, camps and other administrative duties. Prior to joining NDSU, O'Reilly spent four seasons playing soccer at the University of Wyoming as a midfielder under former NDSU head coach Pete Cuadrado.
