Aloha Petroleum plans to break ground on its 58,000-square-foot mixed-use building that will include a Shell gas station, Aloha Island Mart, IHOP and a drive-through Dunkin' Donuts on Paiea Street near Honolulu International Airport. This $5 million project, which is expected to be completed by this summer. The Dunkin' Donuts store will the brand's re-entrance into the Hawaii market through a franchise agreement with Aloha Petroleum. The project is located along Paiea Street at the corners of Koapaka and Ualena streets. Aloha Petroleum struck a franchise agreement last year with Dunkin' Donuts to open 15 stores across the state. Another drive-through Dunkin' Donuts is in the works for the Target-anchored Kapolei Commons shopping Center in West Oahu. Aloha Petroleum also is targeting areas between Downtown Honolulu and Waikiki, as well as commuter areas where people can grab coffee and donuts and head to work or school in town, including in Hawaii Kai and Mililani. Dunkin' Donuts has announced that it has plans to open its first location under a newly-inked franchise agreement with Hawaii's Aloha Petroleum Ltd. near Honolulu International Airport, the head of Aloha Petroleum. The shop expects to open restaurants on the islands of Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island, the first of which is scheduled to open in early 2017. Locations could also include free-standing restaurants, displays in existing stores, restaurants within malls, gas station convenience stores, travel plazas, universities among other real estate formats.
