Hydro-Quebec Announces Partnership with Pomerleau, Inc., Veolia and Ehvert Mission Critical to Develop Data Center in the Province of Quebec
May 29 15
Under a 20-year lease and operation agreement, consortium partners Pomerleau Inc., Veolia and Ehvert Mission Critical will design, construct and operate a new data center for Hydro-Quebec. Consortium partners Veolia, Pomerleau Inc. and Ehvert Mission Critical recently secured a major Design, Build, Finance and Maintain (DBFM) contract for Hydro-Quebec's new data center outside of Montreal - a future hotspot serving the utility's critical operations as the main energy provider in Quebec. Leveraging a scalable approach, Ehvert is designing the data center to augment its power capacity in stages from 1.6 to 4.5 megawatts (MW) over the course of the 20-year term. Once construction is completed by Pomerleau in 2016, Veolia will provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the data center under a 20-year lease and operation agreement, including technical data center operations, facility maintenance and property management, 24/7 physical security and ongoing energy management support.
