Bernard Hannon to Serve as Ball State University's Next Vice President for Business Affairs

Bernard Hannon, associate vice president for business affairs and assistant treasurer at Ball State since 2010, will serve as Ball State University's next vice president for business affairs. Hannon, who begins his new duties immediately, was selected for the post following a nationwide search. He succeeds Randy Howard, who was named senior vice president and chief financial officer at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in August 2014. As associate vice president for business affairs and assistant treasurer, Hannon had direct and indirect oversight of the university's financial functions, including budgeting, finance, investments, bursar functions, accounts payable, capital finance, and contracts and grants. He also has played a major role in the transition team handling business functions since Howard's departure. Hannon has 15 years of experience in higher education management as well as policy development and financing. He came to Ball State after working at the Indiana Commission for Higher Education for five years, including service as the senior associate commissioner and chief financial officer for ICHE.
